So here I am, single and with a child, I'm also the guy so I'm the odd one out at the parenting meetings here. My ex bailed on us after she had the child for reasons i'll probably never know.

This blog will be about the things Ive learned first hand from raising my child, Kristian. I make this public so other people can read it too.

If you have any resources to places that can help any single parents out there, please post your comment I would really appreciate it!

Words of wisdom:
lose the books...go with what you know.
1. kids need to hear 'no'.
if you give in to every demand when they are cute and little, you'll end up with an ugly teenager.
2. remember who is in charge.
when faced with a 'meltdown'..
ask yourself--Who's in charge here?
3. find something positive to say
every day--no matter how minor it may seem. "good job" does go a long way in building self esteem.
as your kid gets older, the rest of the world will beat his self esteem down--don't let it be you doing it.
4. take help when offered--and do
not feel bad about doing so.
